The difference between single-acting and double-acting hydraulic cylinders

Hydraulic cylinders can be divided into single and double acting according to the reset method, here we will introduce the difference between the two methods.

Single action: In appearance, the cylinder has only one oil circuit interface.

There are two methods: spring reset and gravity reset.

Spring reset: When the piston rod retracts, it is difficult to reset or not reset when the piston rod is retracted by the self-contained spring, and this type of jack will be difficult to reset or not reset when used horizontally or when the front end of the piston rod is equipped with accessories.

Gravity (external force) reset: no spring. To get the piston rod back in place, there must be an "external force".

The reset speed is not necessarily the same for both reset methods. cannot withstand the tensile force, these two types of tops cannot be used to lift heavy objects.

Double acting: There are two oil circuit interfaces in appearance:

Hydraulic reset: selected when tensile force is required, and can achieve faster reset through hydraulic pressure during reset.

Used upside down or horizontally, when the front end of the piston rod is fitted with an accessory.

Through the above introduction, I believe that everyone has quickly understood how to distinguish between single-acting and double-acting cylinders, which is very basic and important when we buy cylinder products, and will introduce more knowledge about how to buy hydraulic cylinders in the future.
